The musicians - Davy Spillane
Davy Spillane ...
... one of Ireland's leading uillean pipers as well as being a master of the low whistle, was born in Dublin 1959.
Influenced by masters of Irish piping Seamus Ennis, Leo Rowsome and Johnny Doran, he still  wanted to explore the ties between Irish and American music.

He mixes traditional styles of Irish music, folk, bluegrass, jazz and rock to energising yet soothing effects.

As a teenager Davy Spillane became a founder member of Moving Hearts where he mixed traditional Irish influences with the rock style of the band.
After the band split in 1986 he started a solo career.
He also has collaborated with Van Morrison, Chris Rea, Bryan Adams and many other musicians.
